The headset is responsible for holding the fork to the frame and taking care of steering by connecting the handlebars to the steering tube. The XLC Headset Extender AP-C03 is an additional part that is added to a headset for a standard 1 1/8 inch steerer fork with a carbon shaft. Designed for use on mountain and road bikes, the XLC Headset Extender AP-C03 stabilises the carbon shaft from inside, protecting the carbon from the stem clamp.
